Hockey Night in Niagara

Niagara Wedding Planner

Katrina & Brett's Niagara on the Lake Wedding

It isn't every day that you get a call from a couple that you are actually nervous to meet!  Being a hockey mom myself and basically spending half of my time at Hockey arenas... I was totally super excited and nervous to meet Katrina and Brett.  I wondered what they would be like... assuming they might be difficult for this small town girl to connect with... Boy was I wrong!!!  Instantly we clicked! They were so sweet and down to earth and it was so refreshing to see a couple that seem like being in the spotlight has not changed who they are one single bit.
Brett is a small town guy who seems most himself when rocking a flannel shirt.  Katrina is a big city girl who's natural beauty both inside and out is breathtaking.  They seem to be opposites that compliment each other oh so perfectly!
Their Wedding day was absolutely Beautiful!  Katrina walked through the pear orchard to the Ceremony alter which took place in front of a large oak tree decorated with a large floral arrangement climbing up the tree and draping coming down from the branches.  It was a very sweet and sentimental ceremony which brought me to tears and seriously included the most stylish little ring bearer I have ever seen!
After the Ceremony, guests enjoyed the cocktails and a large charcuterie display within the English Gardens.
After cocktail hour, guests dined alfresco on long harvest tables beneath the trees and edison lights strung up in the orchard.  The tablescape included table numbers hand painted onto rocks, garland and large candelabras along the tables.  Each guest was greeted at their seat with a polaroid of them with the couple and a hand written note tied to their silverware with twine.  The amount of time this must have taken Katrina to do for all of their guests is crazy!  But this shows you how incredibly sweet and thoughtful of a girl she is.  She wanted each and every one of their guests to know exactly how much it felt to them that they were there to celebrate their day with them.
After dinner guests were able to enjoy the cigar bar and the sweets table which obviously had to include Timbit towers!  They may spend a lot of their time in the States but they are born and raised Canadians!  Everyone enjoyed the Photo Booth and the Dj who kept the Dance floor absolutely ROCKIN the entire time!  I have never seen so many sweaty people before in my entire life!  A shuttle service was organized to safely get their guests back to their hotels or to the after party which took place at Riverbend Inn.
It was an absolutely blast and privilege to assist Katrina and Brett in making their Dream Wedding a Reality.  I enjoyed getting to know them and starting a friendship that I hope continues... and now I can't help but cheer on Brett even when he is playing against Toronto!
